Love this place! Egg rolls are the best. I also like the chicken with peanut sauce.

WARNING, Chinese food in Brooklyn Park / Maple Grove can be big time hit or miss! That said, this place was a major hit! Lunch visit on a friday, why not. Read some good reviews on my favorite spot, YELP of course and figured to give it a try. Good website to look over the menu and Fridays thay have Pot-stickers for half price, score. The food here is Asian Fusion and is spot on. I did a pick up order for the office so I got to see in the inside and not just experience it from my desk. The restaurant is nice and clean and very comfortable. I waited a little while but that turned out to be OK because I will never bitch about waiting for good food! The pot-sticker are fantastic, soft and tender with lots of flavor! The egg-roll was very good and the curried chicken dish I had was smoking good! Great flavor in the curry, hot just like I wanted it and fresh veggies with a snap to them! I would even consider coming here in the evening, it's that good. Not to say its a bad neighborhood or anything but just not a spot where you would normally come for dinner after 5, more where your pizza would come from if you dialed out! Hey, it's Friday....LUNCH! KT

It doesn't even deserve a 1 star. The waitress was rude. Not just that, we didn't even get silverware with our appetizers. We had to use our damn fingers to eat it! Our food was tasteless. I will never eat here again. If you want great services and people who aren't rude, go to Lemon Grass or Kim Ahn. 110% better than this place.

Very good selection. Vegetarian friendly as one can substitute mock duck or tofu for most dishes. The cream cheese egg rolls were very tasty. I got the spicy peanuts with tofu. Very good. They offer a wide range of "hotness" so be careful ordering.

This is one of my favorite places in Brooklyn Park. The staff is friendly and efficient with a family feel. Their cream cheese rolls are to die for. My go to dish is the Pad Thai, it never disappoints and there is nothing like it! Lunch specials are a good price and well portioned. Dinners are huge and are worth two meals.

I've stopped in at Sweet Basil a few times for lunch and have never been totally satisfied with my meal. The food is , meh OK and that's about it. I don't know what it is, but always takes longer than it should to dine here. I usually stick with sweet and sour chicken and it's consistent but not necessarily in a good way. They used to have pretty good cream cheese puffs but they've been replaced with tiny little cream cheese puff shooters or something, literally the size of a cigarette rolled up and definitely frozen. I would prefer any of the different choices for this type of cuisine in the area.

My hubby and I are right down the street from Sweet Basil, and as Thai/Vietnamese food fans we order from this place to pick up for dinner probably once a week for the last year. Some of my favorites are the pad thai with tofu, cream cheese rolls, Sweet Basil noodles. The cream cheese rolls I especially love - usually when you get these at other Asian places they are huge triangles of wanton with a hard to reach little chunk of cream cheese in the middle. These are truly "rolls" in that it's like a little cylinder of cream cheese rolled in a light flaky crust. Delicious and a must have for cream cheese wanton lovers. I've had the pho a few times but honestly for me it's pretty meh. Not bad at all, but for me pho is all about the flavorfulness of the broth and theirs just isn't up to snuff with some others I've had. We've also had the calamari a few times and it's quite good! The green papaya salad we ordered once as take out. It was SO spicy I couldn't eat more than the first bite, and even my hot-loving hubby couldn't take it. We make our own papaya salads now so unlikely that we'll be ordering that again, whew! The interior of the restaurant is nice and well kept. It's never very busy, I'm guessing most of their guests are repeat customers like us who get take-out. The staff is always very nice.

Went for lunch, 11:30, ordered soup and a peanut chicken dish. What I noticed was the 'restaurant' has the take out counter in the back corner. There are phones ringing, people walking through , mulling around the restaurant while they wait for their takeout. After about 25 minutes I asked "where's my soup" - nice waitress told me they had a lot of takeout orders. There is one waitperson for 15 - 20 tables. Service was a mess, I saw people leaving without ever ordering. Took me 45 minutes to get the complete meal. Food was OK, not exceptional. I won't be back.

My absolute favorite place to eat! Great atmosphere and service the food is always consistent.

This place is great! I've only had egg rolls this good at one other place. Besides that, everything here is as good as I've had anywhere. The waitresses are extremely awesome and the food is insanely good. If you're a pad thai enthusiast, come on Saturday, it's only 7 bucks and you'll never finish it, you will easily get 2 meals for a small price. It's really nice to have someplace that can actually add some heat to their food. I usually order 4 and it's pretty spicy! Sure they don't serve liquor here but that's just fine, there's a liquor store right next door. Here's an extra note - the menu only states that you can order up to 5 stars for heat, but you can ask for even hotter 6-10 if you want. I personally don't know who could stand much more than 5, but it's a cool option to have if you're picking up lunch for a buddy or something. This is a must try if you're in the Brooklyn Park area.

I meet a buddy occasionally for lunch. He lives in Brooklyn Park so we went to Sweet Basil. I was impressed. The restaurant is small but very attractive. Our server was super. And the lunch prices are VERY reasonable, especially given the quality of the food we had that day. I had the Spicy Peanut Sauce with Chicken. It was delicious. My friend had the Spicy Red Curry which he liked. The raves by other posters about the egg rolls are justified, and they come as a side included with lunch entrees. Don't miss them. I'll be returning soon with my wife.

Came for lunch with a group. Busy and we were concerned there could be a wait. Wrong! We were seated promptly. We ordered from the lunch specials and from the menu. Everyone liked their food...fresh and yummy!

This is our new favorite in the northern 'burbs. There's a great combination of cuisines here, all of my favorites. There's Vietnamese pho, Thai noodles and curry, and Chinese-style stir-frys. In two visits, we've had the spring rolls, pot stickers, pho, Pad Thai, and a green curry dish called Jungle Curry. Everything was tasty, warm, quickly served, and memorable. This is on my list of places to come back to, again and again.

This is by far the best Asian food restaurant in the Champlin area. After being here for 5 years, we tried this on a friend's recommendation. We were not disappointed. The Pad Thai was awesome. Egg rolls tasted great and everything seemed fresh. Definitely recommend.

It's got a unique taste to it for Asian cuisine, lunch specials less than $8 for most items. Would or will go back there again.

Chicken in Spicy Peanut Sauce, and the Egg Roll salad are both delish! I order from here at least once a month and those are definitely the go-tos! I really like that they recently started putting the food in more of a Tupperware style of container because sometimes my Spicy peanut sauce would leak all over the to-go bag and the sauce would all sit at the bottom of the carton instead of mixed in with the chicken and veggies.

Great pho, they get a crowd that's for sure especially during the lunch time (Target corp). The folks that work there are very nice and helpful.

I asked no msg... The food had no flavor the worst Asian/Thai food I ever had.. It was like eating cardboard I had to add my own flavors in at home, good thing I had supplies. If you love cardboard you will love sweet basil. Maybe if I didn't ask for no msg it would of tasted better. Skip it :)

We arrived here less than an hour before they closed and sheepishly asked if they were still seating. They were very happy to do so and were exceptionally friendly. The mister loved his entree. Mine was good but not amazing but the quality was fine I think I just didn't care that much for this particular dish. The summer rolls, though, were phenomenal and I highly recommend them. Overall a very pleasant visit, the excellent service is especially worth noting.

Great food, great service. I haven't had anything I haven't liked here. It is one of my favorite restaurants. Not because of the ambiance (pretty basic but clean) but the food is outstanding. Try the chicken pad Thai and spring rolls....soooo good!

Discovered that This place is right down the road from me. My teen is into mock duck Pad Thai lately and wanted it at Lemon Grass but this was closer. I really liked the cream cheese wontons and egg rolls. The way they roll the cream cheese won tons into petite egg roll style was great and the sweet and sour sauce is divine! She did not care for the mock duck -we are thinking that is because we did not ask for heat in our take out order and they did not ask. The cashew chicken was good. I would go back and try the curry next time. Quick service, good food.

Sweet Basil may look like a small, unassuming building, but there food is AWESOME! It is a quiet, clean & cozy location; and the service is great. I would highly suggest the Chicken Pad Thai! (Every Saturday you can get Pad Thai for $7.00) They also have Bubble Tea, so that is great!

I ate here a couple of weeks ago and the food was decent, but the service was not the best. At the time there was me and my BF and two other tables with guests only, but it still took them a while to refill drinks and clear the dirty plates even after we had tried to get their attention.

It's more than edible but not exceptional. I've eaten there 2-3x. The curries are good. I don't know what people are talking about w/rude employees at Lemon Grass - I have never had anything but good experiences there, and I find the food to be so much more flavorful and interesting.

I've been coming here, off and on for several years. The place is usually empty when I"m here. The servers are friendly and quick. If you want bang for your buck, come during lunch for their lunch special. The food is ok. There isn't anything spectacular, but for the price, I'd say it's pretty good. Some items I like: chicken pad thai, cream cheese roll, wonton soup. I've had a friend order their papaya salad and it tastes pretty good, but I've never ordered it myself. Overall, I think this is a decent place to go when you're in a crunch...if you live around the area.

I say the food are overpriced and the taste is so so. Make it 3 stars because of the attentive waiters and the egg rolls. We ordered muck duck pad thai and steak and potato. Both of the entrees I wasn't impressed. Pad thai had strong smell egg and (tamari sauce?) and steak potato was kinda bland.

So got taken here as the local asian place - was a bit worried given the reputation these generic "asian" places have. Once i figured out from the menu and people that it's going to be the thai/laos region, sticking to those dishes seemed to work well. The cashew chicken with steamed rice was great as a lunch special. Had the egg roll and it was good too. will likely come here again before i leave, good value!

Food is great here but my only complaint is for the prices they have you would think they would have larger proportions. My favorite dish is there rad nah and they only give a small amount of noodles! All I have is great sauce some vegetables and in the bottom of all that is a couple bites of large chow fun noodles. Otherwise I would give them a 4 star.

There is absolutely no reason this place should be empty as often as it is. When you order spicy food here, you can get it on a scale from 1 (low) - 5 (high). I ordered lo mein, spicy rating of 2. I thought my mouth was on fire. Granted, I may be considered a spicy food wimp. My boyfriend enjoys when his nose runs and eyes water. I don't think that's tasty. The lunch special Monday - Friday is basically amazing. Nine options of your general "Chinese food takeout" with steamed or fried rice, and either three cream cheese rolls or an egg roll... for $6.50. The only downside: Don't eat here, because it's tiny and I don't think there's a public restroom. Oh, another downside: It's in Brooklyn Park near 610 (north north north). This isn't a place I'm going to drive to from... most areas in the city. If I lived close, I'd be a frequent customer.

We have ordered from this place several times as it's only a mile from us. It's great. I love the mock duck lo mein and my husband loves the sesame chicken. The eggrolls are really great too (only Vina's eggrolls are better in my opinion). Lots of Asian places serve food that is heavy and has a bit too much oil - but this place seems to be a little more authentic. Great service, good prices, yummy food!

Outstanding food and great service. The lunch specials that include spring or cheese rolls (both are wonderful) are especially popular with locals. Since my son took me there 6 months ago I've been there at least several times a month and every meal has been great. If you really like the heat, be sure to ask for 7 or 8 on the pepper scale! While the phad thai and cashew chicken are my personal favorites, every single item has been perfect. Everyone I've talked to locally who's tried the sesame chicken raves about it.

CAN you say CRAVING??? We've tried a lot of the thai places in brooklyn park/center plymouth etc. This might be our new favorite. The food is really good! The egg rolls are don't go without - fabulous. The tofu pad thai (with a little extra heat) is delicious. The Yellow curry (also requested a little spicier) was divine. The massamum curry very very very yummy. We'll be back!

This place was great! Price wasn't too bad for how good the food was. Only things I would have to say on the lower end is we were supposed to get jasmine rice and we got white. Not terrible, I know. But on top of that we waited 45min or longer for our food and people who came in after us got there food before us.

First time I've taken the time to write a review. Very dull, boring food. Don't waste your money. For the amount of food and the taste from this restaurant you could just buy a couple of lean cuisine meals - it would taste about the same. The chicken broccoli had approx. 1 oz. of chicken and one small broccoli flowerette sliced into 4 pieces. There were 4 pea pods (not fresh but frozen ones). All- in-all it was bad news. Would not go back.

The egg rolls are great! I'd say only Vina in Richfield has better egg rolls. They do a decent job of Asian Fusion. I've been less than pleased with some dishes (Chicken Satay appetizer) but the fried rice is solid, and the lo-mein is very tasty.
